Marcia Sullivan has started a sewing business called So Sew Sullivans from her home in Red Lodge.

Marcia, who has a business degree with marketing emphasis from Michigan Technology University, started sewing as a hobby ten years ago making Christmas items for family and friends.

She progressed to sewing mine clothing for a neighbor, who sold the items to miners around the world. This year Marcia took the plunge and kited out a basement room with three sewing machines that will cope with light to industrial mending.

By light mending this means hemming pants, jeans, shirt sleeves, skirts, dresses, jackets with broken zippers, sleeping bags and back packs.

For industrial sewing she can mend horse blankets and anything else that requires heavy duty sewing.

Marcia also enjoys custom sewing which would include pillows bedding, valances, curtains, Roman blinds, table dressings and cushions.

“When I started sewing 10 years ago I discovered a gift of not needing a pattern for home decor to look at. I can look at something, think about it, be creative and sew it,” she said.
